My family moved to Orange County in 1987 when my father, B. Brian MacKenzie, established his law practice in San Clemente.  I spent my childhood playing with friends, trying every sport imaginable, and enjoying all the benefits of growing up in the best laid-back beach town.  My first exposure to the law office was as a child, stamping law books and quietly playing video games in the back office while my dad had important meetings with clients.

After graduating San Clemente High School in 2000, I moved away to the other best laid-back beach town, San Luis Obispo, where I attended Cal Poly and graduated with a degree in biochemistry.  An "ah-ha!" moment occurred a few years after working as a scientist when I realized a science background is good for a lawyer.  The better "ah-ha!" moment back then was meeting my future wife and fellow lab employee, Cheryl.

I decided to study law at Whittier Law School because of their generous scholarships and the opportunity to work during the day and study law at night.  I loved studying law from day one and I knew I was on the right path.  I graduated from Whittier magna cum laude in 2012 and was admitted to the State Bar of California.

Right back into the family business in 2012, my dad began mentoring me on how to be a lawyer. Over the past six years, I've learned the ins and outs of the family law practice, which center around earning and keeping our clients' trust - by doing honest and professional work while maintaining communication and keeping everyone informed.  As my father heads into his well-earned retirement, my focus is to maintain the successful law practice he established here in San Clemente over 30 years ago.

This is client centric practice.  The only reason to hire a lawyer is to obtain professional results to real concerns.  We achieve this by meeting with and talking with our clients as much as necessary  Call me or come in and meet me and we'll work through your legal questions together.
